Introducing OdourFix Technology: Time to Break the Cycle of Odours

We’re excited to introduce OdourFix technology, our latest innovation designed to transform how odours are managed across cleaning environments. For many years, odour has been treated as something to cover up, with fragrance used as a quick fix to signal cleanliness. With OdourFix, we’re taking a different approach; moving beyond masking and towards a system that addresses odours at their source.

The Problem with Traditional Odour Control

In most environments, cleaning still follows a familiar pattern: clean, disinfect, and apply fragrance. While this approach delivers immediate visual results and a short-term sense of freshness, it does not resolve the underlying cause of odours.

Natural organic residues, including proteins, fats, starches and uric acid, can remain embedded within surfaces even after cleaning has taken place. Traditional cleaning technologies cannot penetrate deep enough into surfaces to effectively break down these odour-causing residues.

Over time, these residues break down and release odour-causing compounds back into the air. This leads to a recurring cycle where odours return between cleans, fragrance is increased to compensate, and additional re-cleans are required. Not only does this increase labour and chemical use, but it also creates inconsistency in how spaces are experienced.

Why Odour Matters More Than We Think

Smell is one of the most powerful human senses, yet it is often underestimated in cleaning strategies. It is processed directly by the limbic system (the part of the brain associated with memory and emotion) meaning it plays a critical role in how environments are perceived and remembered. So Odours are not simply a hygiene issue, but a key driver of perception, comfort, and trust.

Introducing OdourFix Technology

With OdourFix, we’ve developed a way to move beyond reactive odour control and introduce a more proactive, integrated approach. The technology is embedded across our 1.5L pouch cleaning range, allowing odour control to become part of everyday cleaning, rather than an additional step.

This means organisations can clean surfaces and address odours simultaneously, without increasing complexity or product use. By integrating odour control into routine cleaning, we help deliver more consistent results across different environments and teams.

How It Works: A Biological Approach

OdourFix is based on biological principles, combining targeted enzymes with beneficial microorganisms that naturally work deeper into surfaces, reaching areas traditional chemistry cannot.

The enzymes identify and act on organic residues, while the microorganisms break these compounds down into simpler, non-odorous substances. Unlike traditional cleaning chemistry, which typically stops working once the surface dries, this biological activity continues for up to 72 hours after application.

This ongoing process helps to reduce odour rebound between cleans and contributes to improved surface conditions over time. As a result, odours are not just temporarily addressed, but actively prevented from returning.

Designed for Real Environments

We’ve developed OdourFix with real-world cleaning environments in mind. It is now available across our pouch range, including washroom, toilet, multi-surface, and odour-neutralising products, making it easy to implement within existing cleaning routines.

The concentrated pouch system ensures accurate dosing, helping to prevent overuse and maintain consistency across teams and sites. This supports operational efficiency while reducing the need for multiple products and additional training.

Supporting Health, Air Quality and Sustainability

We spend over 90% of our time indoors, and with respiratory conditions affecting 1 in 5 people, protecting indoor air quality is becoming increasingly important.

Cleaning products and fragrances can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which build up in indoor environments and contribute to air quality concerns. For individuals with sensitivities, these compounds can irritate and inflame the respiratory system.

By reducing reliance on fragrance and high-VOC formulations, OdourFix supports cleaner, more comfortable indoor environments for both staff and occupants. The pouch range is also certified to Global GreenTag PlatinumHEALTH™ standard, including Asthma & Allergy Sensitive™ certification, providing additional reassurance around health and environmental impact.

Beyond indoor environments, the pouch system has been designed with the full product lifecycle in mind. Using renewable, naturally derived ingredients and concentrated formats, it helps reduce packaging, transport impact, and overall environmental footprint. The result is a cleaning system that supports both performance and sustainability.

A Step Forward in Cleaning

With over 30 years of biotechnology expertise, we’ve always believed that cleaning should go beyond visible results. OdourFix represents a step forward, helping organisations move away from masking odours and towards a more effective, biology-led approach that delivers lasting performance, improved indoor air quality, and addresses the root cause of odour problems.
