As one of the UK's leading operators of country clubs, The Club Company recognises that creating an environment promoting health, wellness, and a sense of community is key to helping their members achieve their personal goals. This vision extends beyond their state-of-the-art gyms, equipment, and welcoming facilities—it includes a strong commitment to sustainability in the wider community that they serve.
For The Club Company, wellness, health, and sustainability are connected. They knew they needed to review their broader sustainability impact to continue delivering on all their objectives while maintaining an inspiring and inviting atmosphere. That’s why they examined their supply chain to ensure they weren’t compromising their sustainability goals. This is where their supplier, Pearroc, introduced them to us—BioHygiene, the UK's leading biotech cleaning brand—to help them achieve their cleaning goals without compromise.
Recognising that meaningful sustainable action requires a forward-thinking and comprehensive approach, The Club Company began discussions with their cleaning supplier, Pearroc. Their goal was to replace traditional chemical cleaning products with a sustainable alternative that wouldn’t sacrifice effectiveness. Pearroc introduced BioHygiene, knowing that our biotech cleaning solutions would be a perfect fit for The Club Company’s goals across all their sites.
"After working closely with The Club Company and understanding their needs, objectives, and vision, we were confident that BioHygiene’s sustainable technology could help them meet their goals while maintaining the high standards of their premium facilities."
Emma Foster, Business Support Manager from Pearroc
With The Club Company constantly adopting the latest technologies to enhance their members’ wellness journeys, modernising their cleaning operations became equally important. They needed products that offered both sustainability and consistency across their 17 UK sites, without compromising cleanliness or standards. As they moved forward with a new cleaning supplier, they needed a manufacturer that could unify the products across all sites while addressing the specific cleaning needs of each department.
Having relied on traditional cleaning chemicals in the past, The Club Company wanted to ensure that transitioning to our next-generation biotech products would be seamless. They needed to understand not only the environmental benefits but also how our solutions would work in practice across their various sites.
At BioHygiene, we know that educating clients and building their confidence in our products is just as important as delivering eco-friendly solutions. We took a hands-on approach, providing on-site trials to demonstrate the effectiveness of our products, particularly our Foaming Washroom Descaler. By offering real-time before-and-after demonstrations, we helped The Club Company’s teams see the results firsthand.
Building confidence extended beyond the management teams. To ensure better operations, reduced waste, and lower CO₂e emissions, it was essential that cleaning operatives knew how to use our products effectively. Our team of product experts provided face-to-face training sessions at each site, showing who we are, what our products do, how to use them efficiently and the benefits they will see.
Following the introduction and development of strong relationships between all parties, BioHygiene initiated a phased rollout of our products across The Club Company’s sites in October 2022. This approach allowed The Club Company to use up their remaining stock from their previous supplier, avoiding material and financial waste.
Whether it was busy kitchens, relaxing spas, or high-traffic gyms and washrooms, our products ensured consistently high standards of hygiene for each environment’s unique needs.
Here are some of the initial solutions we provided:
Sustainability was at the core of The Club Company's decision to switch cleaning suppliers. By partnering with BioHygiene, they have made significant strides toward their environmental goals. This collaboration has helped reduce:
As part of their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, The Club Company aims to reduce their carbon emissions by 40% by 2030. Recognising that most of their carbon footprint comes from indirect emissions, it was essential to partner with suppliers who could help them meet this target. The Club Company has successfully reduced their CO₂e emissions from cleaning products by an estimated 88%, equating to 1272kg—just over the average weight of a female Hippopotamus —per year by switching to Biohygiene. This reduction was achieved by focusing on sustainable ingredients, reducing transport emissions through concentrated formulas, and minimising post-use environmental impact.
In line with their sustainability objectives, The Club Company has adopted water and energy conservation measures. BioHygiene’s cleaning range, which includes no-rinse formulas that work effectively with cold water, supports these initiatives. Our solutions have helped conserve both water and energy across their 17 sites by eliminating the need to heat water and reducing water consumption.
All 17 of The Club Company’s sites are located in beautiful natural areas of Britain. As an eco-conscious business, they are committed to protecting the surrounding wildlife and ecosystems. With BioHygiene’s naturally-derived cleaning technology, The Club Company no longer needs to worry about contributing to aquatic toxicity, ensuring that the locations remain pristine with minimal environmental impact.
BioHygiene’s concentration rates and multi-use products have already helped The Club Company reduce plastic consumption by an estimated 58% since switching to our brand. After successfully introducing our formulas, The Club Company took the next step by adopting our innovative cleaning pouches, which further reduced plastic waste, improved dilution control, and enhanced budget management.
As a country club that promotes health and wellness, The Club Company understands the importance of prioritising the safety and well-being of its people. A responsible employer doesn’t just meet corporate standards; it actively addresses the health and safety risks faced by staff in day-to-day operations.
By adopting BioHygiene’s products, The Club Company is protecting both the environment and their people. Our products carry low to no hazard ratings, reducing the immediate risks for staff and guests. Additionally, by using safer, renewable technologies, The Club Company has eliminated the release of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), preventing respiratory health issues and ensuring a healthier environment for all.
As a country club, we take great pride in our commitment to protecting both the health of our members and the natural surroundings that enhance their wellbeing. This was one of the key reasons we chose to take a broader approach to wellness and sustainability, considering carefully who we partner with. We are now proud to be working with BioHygiene, a brand that has demonstrated that achieving a high standard of cleanliness doesn't have to come at a cost to the planet. Since collaborating with them, we’ve seen significant environmental savings, including reductions in CO2 emissions and plastic waste, while also streamlining our operations across all sites. From initial contact to project rollout, the BioHygiene team has elevated our staff’s understanding of their products and given us even greater confidence in why this switch was essential to our success. Partnering with BioHygiene has truly supported The Club Company in our mission to protect both the wider community and the planet.
